There's nothing better than an Autumnal walk in the woods, and the Bentley Woodfair is a celebration of our native trees. With activities from wood carving, to willow weaving and tree climbing, there really is something for everyone!

Walkies! Coast, Downs and Towns
Eastbourne & Lewes Walking Festival: 20-29 September
Autumn is the perfect time to take a ramble or walk, and the Eastbourne& Lewes Walking Festival is back, and it's bigger and better than ever. Coastal strolls, hikes across the downs and themed walks - discover walks for all interests and abilities.
If you're in Lewes Town, why not try the Battle of Lewes Walk and find out more about the battle, taking in Lewes Castle, the Cluniac Priory or follow the Lewes Public Art Trail and discover the art galleries and public art scattered around the town.
Outside the town you can take a river walk at Barcombe or visit the former home of the Bloomsbury set at Charleston if you arrive on foot, you can receive a Green Traveller discount for House & Garden entry.

Nibbles & Feasts
Lewes Octoberfeast: 28 September - 29 October
This month-long food festival has been running for 10 years, and it's a real treat. Organised by Caccia and Tails, Seven Sisters Spices and The Community Chef, this year's festival is full of workshops, pop up events, and secret suppers hosted by some of our local food heroes.
Visit the home of photographer and correspondent Lee Miller's house and enjoy a meal inspired by her groundbreaking recipes recreated by Chloe Edwards of Seven Sisters Spices or indulge in delicious Middle Eastern and Turkish food served in a secret woodland location. A celebration of local food and the wondeful producers who feed the district of Lewes.

Apples & Pears
Apple Day at Stamner Park: 22 September, 11am to 5pm
The apples are ripe and ready for collecting, munching and pressing. The Brighton Apple day is a fun day out for all ages, with tours of the orchards, live music, dance and storytelling. Enjoy cider and fruit juice and food stalls from local, sustainable and ethical suppliers.
