About

Discover a fun-filled family day out at Newhaven Fort, where history comes alive!  Explore engaging exhibits, enjoy thrilling activities, and immerse yourself in unique experiences.  Enjoy the new adventure playground, hands-on interactive exhibits, dressing up zones, WWll artefacts and brand new gift shop.

Newhaven Fort is the largest military structure in Sussex, and has a rich history spanning the Victorians, The First World War, Second World War and beyond. Dug into the hillside so no enemy could see it from the sea, this unique fort spans over 10 acres with stunning views across Seaford bay and the Ouse Valley.

Journey deep into the vast network of tunnels, venture on to the ramparts and gun emplacements to soak up the stunning views, and unlock the secret stories of the people who lived and worked at Newhaven Fort. Explore hundreds of genuine military artefacts housed in the casemates lining the Parade Ground and reveal their hidden history. Don’t miss the realistic air-raid recreation in the Blitz Bomb Shelter and the fascinating Home Front exhibition. There’s also an ever-changing programme of living history events and activities for children. Visit the website for all the latest details or follow Newhaven Fort on Facebook or Instagram.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are supervised and kept on a short lead at all times. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Café.
