PELLS POOL
Pells Pool is one of Lewes’ best kept secrets and it’s the oldest documented freshwater outdoor public swimming pools in the country. The Pells Pool is a spring-fed pool – 46 metres long by 23 metres wide. This is a fantastic spot to spend the whole day as there are facilities here for the whole family to enjoy.
Hope Gap
Rock Pooling at Hope Gap near Seaford is perfect on a sunny day when the tide is going out. You can park the car at South Hill Barn(free parking) and armed with nets, buckets and a picnic take the public footpath down to Hope Gap. The kids will enjoy looking for crabs, shrimps, limpets, minnows and many other small sea creatures. Sit on the beach to have our picnic with the iconic view of the Seven Sisters in the distance.
You can also visit the the beach at Tidemills. Spend the day on the beach swimming in the sea, fishing and finishing off with a bar-b-que on the beach.
Seaford Beach
The beach at Seaford is a local favourite with families. Clean and less crowded than many southern beaches, it's the perfect place for a dip.Close to the railway station and play facilities.
Barcombe Mills
A visit to Barcombe Mills on the banks of the River Ouse near Lewes, is highly recommended. It’s the perfect summer location for wild swimming, picnics and boating and has been named as one of the top ten spots for wild swimming in the country . If you prefer to keep dry you can also hire a boat from the Anchor Inn and paddle the heavenly route to Fish Ladder Falls.
Indoor Pools
