This is the story of how a widow stood up to her father-in-law and to the overwhelmingly negative men involved in trading wine to build on her husband’s work and establish Veuve Clicquot as the success it is today, thanks largely to her development of the methode champenoise which the vineyard still employs today and to her determination to overcome the odds set against her.
