Lewes Big Band Presents: Pete Long's Jazz Swan Lake

Join the Lewes Music Group as their very own Lewes Big Band kicks off there 2024/25 season with a mesmerising journey as they perform Pete Long's Jazz Swan Lake in addition to some of the biggest and best Big Band hits such as Rhapsody in Blue, Sing Sing Sing, Feeling Good and In The Mood.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Pete Long, two musical legends that have merged together to create a fusion of Classical and Jazz. Following on from Duke Ellington's success in merging Classical and Jazz with his works of Nutcracker and Peer Gynt, Pete Long's re-imagination of Swan Lake is set to become a classic of our time.

The Lewes Big Band was formed in 2019 as the Lewes Youth Band, since then they have gone on to play at Glyndebourne Opera House, Factory Live Worthing, Con Club Lewes and All Saints Centre Lewes. The Lewes Big Band's musicians include graduates or current students across many of the UK's leading music institutions such as Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, University of Chichester Conservatoire and Leeds Conservatoire. The Lewes Big Band is part of the Lewes Music Group.
