About

Take a trip back in time this February half term with Medieval Madness at Lewes Castle & Museum, a great family day out in Sussex.

Every day during February Half Term (13th to 17th February) we're hosting a range of free, fun activities taking place across the site, including an activity trail, games and dressing-up activities.

Check out what's on offer:

Medieval Monday – explore the weapons and armour worn by soldiers of the past in our medieval object handling session

Tudor Tuesday – discover more about Lewes' links to the Tudors. Plus, find out more about medieval archery with the Michelham Bowmen

Weaving Wednesday – how did people make clothes during the medieval period? Discover more with our weaving demonstrations

Saxon Thursday – what was life like in England before the Normans? Meet our Saxon reenactors and discover more about how people of this period lived

Pressing Friday – take part in a popular Medieval pastime of flower pressing

Those visiting on Saturday 18th February will be able to take part in Soldiers at the Castle, an opportunity to meet and talk to reenactors about the weapons and armour of the Tudor period.
