When neglected, depressed and abusive English artist Audrey Amiss (Dolan) asks her social worker (Macdonald) to drive her from London to a 'local' art gallery where she hopes to exhibit she means back to her home town of Sunderland and her sister (McKee).
Based tenuously on the artist, Morley's road trip is imaginary and cathartic.
