About

Join us for an evening in conversation with Gulia, Lorenzo and Fabrice Scherzo, three members of a philanthropic arts foundation, The Fondamento Dello Scherzo, joined by the artists who invented them and are generously funded by them; Emma Carlow, Jo Lamb and Isobel Smith.

We will discuss the effect the foundation's support has had on the artists' work, what part 'make-believe' has played in their practice, and how they find the experience of travelling through time and space.

They join us fresh from an after show rest at the foundation's villa on the island of Mustique.

The Sussex Women Supper Club remains supperless for the time being, but we are looking forward to serving you tea, cake, creativity and conversation.

Please remember that the Sussex Women Supper Club is generally about women and by no means exclusively for them!  Whoever you are and wherever you're from, you are warmly invited and welcome to join us.  We think you'll like it and we'd love to see you.

How the evening goes:

PLEASE NOTE - REVISED TIMES

7.00 - Doors open. Tea & cake.

7.30 - Illustrated talk commences in the hall

8.15 - Q&A and reflections with the audience

9.00 - Close

Join us for the sixth chapter of the Sussex Women Supper Club; an occasional series of events celebrating the life and times of notable women and non-binary people who have lived and worked in Sussex.

Proceeds from the evening will help to support the work of Hospitable Environment CIC, a socially engaged community arts and wellbeing organisation based in Newhaven, East Sussex. We explore what it takes to create safe, connected and sustainable communities by gathering people together around shared food and creative experiences.

We look forward to seeing you in November.
