In this comedy drama the women of Ballygar, Dublin are tantalised by the chance of winning a pilgrimage to Lourdes, but apart from maybe curing ills they also want to taste freedom and escape the gauntlet of domestic life.
With benevolent interference from their cheeky and rebellious priest, close friends Lily, Eileen, Dolly and Sheila get to board the bus to France.
