Newhaven Historical Society & Museum is delighted to invite Ian Gledhill as our guest speaker this month.
Ian has had a very varied career, from designing underground railways as an engineer for London Transport, to appearing in pantomime with Julian Clary. In between he has worked in travel and tourism, music publishing, television, and especially the theatre, where he has been an actor, director, set designer, stage manager and opera translator. Another of his interests is history and Ian makes a very welcome return to talk about the history of the transport that once served Brighton (but not Hove!). Brighton was the last town in the world still to build open topped trams, as late as 1937.
Guests welcome: Admission £5.00 - or join the Society on the evening for £8.00 and get free admission to all 3 remaining talks during 2023, plus free entry to Newhaven and Seaford Museums. Members free
