Man using a scythe on the Railwayland

About

Come together with the community on September 22nd for an afternoon dedicated to the traditional art of wildflower management.

It's more than just conservation – it's a celebration!  Enjoy autumnal crafts, music and refreshments all whilst learning to have a go on a scythe.

The age-old technique of scything helps maintain grasslands by spreading wildflower seeds, preserving soil health, and preventing brambles from taking over.  This gentle process ensures that wildflowers grow back stronger, creating diverse habitats for pollinators and wildlife to thrive.  A chance for you to connect with nature, support biodiversity, and experience the slower, more mindful way of managing our landscapes.

This event is FREE and there's no need to book.  Meet us at the far end of The Sidings, or follow the signs from the Linklater Pavilion.

️ 2–5pm, Sunday 22nd September 2024.
