Q&A talk and film, involving sculptor Jo Sweeting and writer Louisa Thomsen Brits, led by filmmaker Jane Mote.
This collaborative project, using letter carving, writing, printmaking, poetry and (in particular) local dialect, celebrates the distinct vocabulary of the places we inhabit by using land art to summon a response to our common ground. It explores the erosion of language and landscape, culture and connection.
For, as Robert MacFarlane says of the project, 'language moves too; has its own longshore drift, its own erosions'.
Come with your memories of Newhaven and Sussex dialect words. All contributions will become part of the project.
