Join Lewes band Pam and de Femmes and Mavka, a Ukrainian vocal ensemble, for an afternoon Multilingual Singing Workshop and evening Concert Performance. In association with Lewes Ripple.
2-5pm Singing Workshop: Join us for a day's singing and music making in the Westgate Chapel. We will warm up with some exercises and simple-ish songs, then progress to more complicated structures, harmonies & counter-melodies. We'll use original lyrics, transliterations & translations into English. Mavka, a Ukrainian vocal Ensemble directed by Nataliya Valda, will continue the workshop teaching us 2 songs in Ukrainian. Some previous singing experience useful, but not essential.
7:30-10:30pm Concert Performance: In the evening's concert we will perform these songs in the Westgate Chapel with the band, integrated with a full performance by Mavka and Pam and de Femmes. There'll be a bar for refreshments.
