Narthen are Jim Causley (Devil's Interval, Mawkin Causley) Barry Coope (Coope Boyes & Simpson) Jo Freya (Blowzabella, Moirai) & Fi Fraser (The Old-Fashioned, Polka Works). They offer songs to touch your heart, make you think, & thrill your ears. They are known for their 4-part harmony, but also play piano, accordion, fiddle, soprano sax, ukulele & whistles.
The workshop will use traditional & contemporary folk song, covering a range of topics, arranged for three- and four-part harmony. Each harmony part has its own dedicated tutor. Teaching will be by ear but dots will be available for those who like to have them. This is a mixed ability workshop.
IN THE EVENING NARTHEN PERFORM AT LEWES SATURDAY FOLK CLUB (£10; advance tickets from club & website)
Provisional Timetable
10.45 Registration & coffee; order lunch (refreshments not included)
1:00 Warm-ups, rounds & beginning on four-part arrangements
12.30 Lunch
13:30 Concentration on 3-4 specific pieces depending on the speed of the group.
15.00 Tea/coffee break
5:15 Finish off & reprise all full songs & warm-up pieces.
16.45 Finish
