From Sussex Downs to London Town

By kind permission of the Viscount Hampden, a retrospective Exhibition and Sale of original paintings and drawings by Moira Hoddell, ARCA.

Born in 1927, Moira graduated from the Royal College of Art in July 1949.  Among her tutors were John Nash, Edward Bawden and Ruskin Spear, who commented that she had a touch of genius.  After joining the Daily Mail, in 1955 she travelled with American correspondent Eileen Travis, drawing most major towns in Britain.  

At the generous request of Moira, now living in Ringmer, all proceeds of the sale will go to the Hamsey Church Restoration Fund.  This beautiful 11th century building is being urgently repaired.
