'Would you like your Christmas to be more sustainable this year? Would you like to wrap a gift in something really special? Why not join Tara Macdonald to create your own beautifully hand dyed wrapping cloth? The Japanese art of Furoshiki involves wrapping gifts in a reusable cloth that is a gift in itself. It can be used again or even worn as a cute bandana.
We will be using flowers and botanicals to bundle dye a 100% cotton cloth. We will also be dyeing a piece of ribbon to wrap around a special gift. They will not only look beautiful, they are kinder to the planet. Bundle dyeing is a great way to introduce yourself to natural dyeing and Tara will be explaining the fundamentals to get you started in this fascinating craft. Everything will be supplied so just bring yourself and some Christmas spirit! Tara is a natural dyer based at her dye studio in Rye. She began her career as a horticulturist, and has worked in many fabulous gardens. Her interest in uses of plants grew and she now runs her own dye studio creating her own products for sale as well as teaching and running workshops. All levels and abilities welcome.
