Dan plays banjo and guitar with the excellent Rattle on the Stovepipe (Dave Arthur, Dan Stewart, Pete Cooper). An outstanding teacher, he is a tutor for banjo workshops at Cecil Sharp House, London, and also gives private lessons. The workshop is for US old-time claw-hammer 5-string banjo. Dan will teach a couple of straightforward tunes and move onto more advanced right-hand techniques and ideas for variations for people to take away and apply to their own playing. Some music will be sent in advance, but we'll aim to learn the tunes by ear, and music for everything covered will be provided to take home on the day.
