A special fundraiser for the Mayor of Lewes' 'good cause' Routes for Change (www.routesforchange.co.uk).
A revelatory expoloration of Robert Schumann's famous song cycle Frauenliebe und Leben, including Robert and Clara's love letters, extracts from Janice Galloway's highly acclaimed biographical novel 'Clara', and passages from Elissa Guralnick's essay 'Ah, Clara, I am not worthy of your love'. The Frauenliebe songs will be woven through the spoken text in new English translations, and the performance will conclude with a concert recital, sung in the original German.

There will be a Q&A following the performance with Elizabeth Mansfield and the Mayor of Lewes, Imogen Makepeace, together with Anthea Barbary and Victoria Cooper, who will talk about their work with Routes for Change.
