Lewes Saturday Folk Club Workshop No 292.
Brian Peters is 'one of the country's finest melodeon players' (English Dance & Song 2011) and an internationally-known instrumentalist and singer with a wide teaching experience on melodeon, including Melodeons at Witney, Folkworks, Music without Frontiers (Netherlands) and a Masterclass at the Australian National Folk Festival. He also gives regular lessons to groups and individuals.
Working solo and in various combinations, he specialises in Northern English dance music and accompanying traditional song, but has also experimented with blues, Tex-Mex and much else. He is an excellent Anglo concertina player as well.
The workshop will cover three main topics if time permits (see provisional timetable). Players should have a G/D instrument and be reasonably experienced; music will be provided for readers but by-ear learners are welcome too.
