The Church upon a Hill: A Journey
A workshop for children with Suzanne Hennegrave.
Wednesday 21st August 2-4pm

In response to a journey around the church and churchyard, children will create greetings cards using mixed-media techniques. These will include: taking rubbings, sketching in ink, watercolour painting, creating imitation stained glass and calligraphy. Through this activity they will foster a deeper appreciation of the surroundings, as they study them closely, in order to create art. They will explore the architectural features and the history of the building, the words in hymns, different flowers planted, especially to attract wildlife, and the beauty and symbolism in the stained glass windows.

The workshop is led by one of the exhibiting artists, Suzanne Hennegrave, and is aimed at children aged between 7 and 16. Children should be accompanied by an adult. They are however free to relax in Café12/31 or have a go at being creative too.
