A diffident widower attempts to escape loneliness by joining the local amateur light operatic society. By accident (by not ever saying NO) he advances from a small part to the lead while also enjoying the attentions of all the female cast members.
Written in 1984, this was Alan.Ayckbourn's 20th play and one of his most successful earning three major awards, including the London Evening Standard Award, the Olivier Award, and the Drama Award.
One of Ayckbourn's best-loved comedies, directed by Trish Richings, it features performances from Alan Lade, Jon Terry, Jenny Humphries, Barbara Spagnoli, Angie Wright, Sue Williams, Mandy Crynkovic, Steve Cowells, John Le Serve, Roland Boorman, Peter Barnes, Rebecca Hyland and Dan Williams.
The show opens on Friday 7 June 2024 and runs through to the following Saturday 15 June with matinées only on Saturday 8 and Saturday 15 June. Evening performances commence at 7.45pm and the matinées will start at 2.30pm.
