Discover the joy of creating with clay in our hands-on, inclusive ceramics and pottery course. Perfect for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills, this 4-week journey will introduce you to various hand-building techniques, experience the potter's wheel, guided by Jess and Sydney.

Course Overview:

Week 1: Pinch Pots Get familiar with the material and learn the art of pinch pots. This week, you'll focus on crafting small bowls, mugs, or candle holders. Week 2: Coiling & Potter's Wheel Dive into traditional pottery techniques with coiling. This week's project will be a coiled bowl, with work continuing into the next session. As well as the opportunity to try the potter's wheel. Week 3: Slab Building Take your skills up a notch by exploring slab building. This week's focus will be on creating vases or festive Christmas trees. Week 4: Christmas Ornaments & Potter's Wheel Get into the festive spirit by making Christmas ornaments and enjoy a session on the potter's wheel. This week is also your chance to complete any ongoing projects.

Throughout the course, you'll have opportunities to decorate and slip your creations. We'll take your pieces back to our studio for firing and glazing, with the aim of having them ready for Christmas, though this cannot be guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of working with clay.

What to Bring:

An apron or clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Your own tools, if you have them. We will also have enough for everyone!(Please note that clay and glazes are provided, with limited quantities per person.)

Important Notes:

We cannot guarantee that all pieces will survive the firing process or be ready by Christmas, as working with clay can be unpredictable. This course is designed to focus on the experience rather than the final product, so please keep this in mind.

If you are unable to attend a session, we cannot provide an additional make-up day. However, in cases of illness, we can offer you the opportunity to drop in on a session in an upcoming course within 4 months.

Cancellation Policy:

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for this course within 7 days of the course. However, if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your spot to another person organised by you. Please inform us if you would like to do so.
