A wonderful re-telling of Shakespeare's classic love story told by BN9's Young People's Theatre Company.

A girl meets boy.  A boy meets girl.  They fall in love.  She survives.  He waits for her.  She keeps their secret until it's just too much.....

Staged in The Romney Hut, Newhaven.  Play On is an arts organisation dedicated to inspiring and encouraging young people and new audiences to connect with classical plays.

Road Directions

The town of Newhaven is situated between Brighton and Eastbourne on the A259 coast road and is linked to Lewes on the A27, via the A26.

Newhaven is well sign posted from the A27 and all approach roads into the town have brown signs directing visitors to Newhaven Fort.

Public Transport Directions

Trains run regularly to Newhaven Town Station, approximately 1.1 miles (1.8km) from the Fort. Taxis can be picked up outside the station or in the town centre. If on foot head towards the town centre, over the swing bridge and take the first left to walk alongside the river, past Newhaven Marina and on to the Fort. By Train: The Brighton & Hove Buses Coaster service (Number 12) runs regularly between Brighton and Eastbourne and buses stop throughout the town centre, approximately 0.7 miles (1.1km) from the Fort.

If coming from Brighton alight from the bus at Lower Place, which is right in the town centre, and head through the town towards the river. You can then walk along the river, past Newhaven Marina and on towards the Fort.

If coming from Eastbourne, alight at Newhaven South Way and walk back along the ring road towards the river for 1 minute then follow the river towards the Fort.
